JORDAN SUCKLEY DEBUT INTERVIEW FOR SLINKY
On May 1st, Slinky celebrate 13 years as one of the leading names in dance music. To talk about this momentous event we interview rising star and debutant on May 1st, Jordan Suckley.
Hi Jordan, 1. Could you give us a brief introduction as to who you are & what your role is in dance music? I am Goodgreef resident and signed to PFAgency alongside DJ's such as Eddie Halliwell and John O'Callaghan. I also run two record labels, which are Goodgreef Digital & Global Sounds.
2. It’s your debut for Slinky & the O2 Academy, Bournemouth. What can we expect from you on May 1st? Really looking forward to my debut at this club as I hear its crazy! I will be playing a mixture of new promo's, my own tracks and some 3 deck mixing with EFX and scratching. 3. It’s our 13th Birthday on May 1st, so were asking everyone. What would your present be to Slinky? A nice tub of my Nan’s Marmalade and two cans of Special Brew. 4. You’re now A&R for Goodgreef Digital, What can we expect from the label in 2010? We already have about 8 new monsters signed to Goodgreef & Global Sounds, so its just a case of release dates for them now. We will also be getting remixes from some big names too! 5. What would you say was your biggest achievement in 2009? There have been so many, 2009 was an AMAZING year for me! Being signed to PFA, playing main arena at Parklife festival filling in for John O'Callaghan, flying on a private jet to Creamfields from another gig in Ireland with Eddie & JOC, playing 6 festivals in the summer, having a few number 1 tracks, being mentioned by Eddie, JOC, Lashes, Sied van Riel in the DJMag top 100 interviews as their one to watch for 2010, listed by Beatport & Trance International as a one to watch for 2010.. The list goes on... great year ! 6. Away from Dance Music, DJ-ing & Producing, Do you have any other passions? Nope not really, I hardly watch TV and I didn’t buy a PS3/Xbox or anything like that on purpose as I don’t want any distractions. I have my mind set on where I want to be in the next few years, so I like to stay focused on what I am doing every single day. 7. Our theme for May 1st is Slinky In Wonderland, if you were to look down the rabbit hole, what do you think would be down there? Harold Bishop playing his Tuber 8. If you were to choose between the White Queen and the Red Queen, who would you go for? Racist! :) 9. You’re remixing the classic Pants & Corset track, Malice In Wonderland for our remix competition. What can we expect to hear? I went for something quite different to the original so dirty, driving and with a different style breakdown. But it is still got the old elements and has a big room feel to it with a drop which will hopefully make the ravers go wild ! 10. Finally, would you say you’re mad as a Hatter? 100% yes!
